ARTIST STATEMENT
A clean notebook is a challenge to free speech. A notebook consisting of black and white cards allows you to separate and write down the good and bad sides of things. In short, such a notebook can be useful to anyone who deals with the topic of freedom in the broad sense of the word. The title of the notebook is related to a basic philosophical dilemma: what comes first, – the hen or the hen? The lenticular printing technique exposes additional relationships between the notebook covers: typographic (the letters of the word FREEDOM) and social (pecking priority and free range for searching for grain). The written FREEDOM notebook will become a handwritten book in one copy, connected through a form with other written notebooks of this edition (– currently open edition: 3 copies).
BIO
Jadwiga Tryzno (born 1946), graduated in sociology in 1970; until 1981 she worked at the Institute of Sociology at the University of Łódź. From 1985 to 2021, together with her husband Janusz Paweł Tryzno, she ran the Correspondance des Arts publishing house. In 1990, they founded a foundation of the same name and in 1993, the Art Book Museum in Łódź. After the death of Janusz P. Tryzno (2021), at the beginning of 2023, the museum was transformed into a cultural institution co-leaded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and the Correspondance des Arts Foundation. Jadwiga Tryzno remains its president. Jadwiga Tryzno's artistic biography is related to the Correspondance des Arts publishing house and the substantive activities of the Book Art Museum. Due to the lack of manual skills and lack of appropriate education, Jadwiga Tryzno developed her creative abilities in the field of imagination and concepts. She verbalized her ideas for books on paper or a computer screen.

BIO
Jadwiga Tryzno (ur. 1946), ukończyła studia socjologiczne w 1970 r; do 1981 r. pracowała w Instytucie Socjologii Uniwersytetu Łódzkiego. Od 1985r. do 2021 r. razem z mężem Januszem Pawłem Tryzno prowadziła wydawnictwo Correspondance des Arts. W roku 1990 r. razem założyli fundację o tej samej nazwie a w 1993 r. Muzeum Ksiązki Artystycznej w Łodzi. Po śmierci Janusza P. Tryzno (2021 r.) z początkiem 2023 r. muzeum zostało przekształcone w instytucję kultury, wspólprowadzoną przez Ministerstwo Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego i Fundację Correspondance des Arts. Jej prezesem dotąd pozostaje Jadwiga Tryzno. Biografia artystyczna Jadwigi Tryzno związana jest z wydawnictwem Correspondance des Arts oraz z działalnością merytoryczną Muzeum Książki Artystycznej. Z uwagi na brak zdolności manualnych i brak odpowiedniego wykształcenia Jadwiga Tryzno rozwijała swoje zdolności kreacyjne w dziedzinie wyobraźni i koncepcji. Swoje pomysły na książki werbalizowała na papierze lub ekranie komputera.
Janusz Paweł Tryzno (1948 – 2021) Studiował w Państwowej Wyższej Szkole Sztuk Plastycznych w Łodzi (dyplom z grafiki i fotografii: 1974 roku). W 1980 roku wraz z przyjaciółmi założył grupę artystyczną Correspondance des Arts. W 1990 roku założył fundację Correspondance des Arts. Fundacja umożliwiła powołanie do życia w 1993 roku Muzeum Książki Artystycznej w Łodzi. W 1980 roku z grupą przyjaciół Tryzno, wśród których był łódzki poeta Zdzisław Jaskuła, Andrzej Graczykowski, Zbigniew Janeczek, otworzył wydawnictwo artystyczne „Correspondance des Arts”. W 1993 roku przeniósł zakład produkcji książek artystycznych do willi Henryka Grohmana przy ul. Tymienieckiego w Łodzi. Został pochowany na cmentarzu komunalnym Doły w Łodzi.
